we celebrated last night and went to bonsai for dinner. it was dad, mom, lisa, chris, and me... thomas was working and sadly couldn't come, but he all missed him. we all love to go to that place and whenever we go, we always pretend it's someone's birthday so we can get our picture taken. so far, we have 7 pictures all in the same place... hah only 3 of them have been ACTUAL birthdays. it's so much fun to go and look at our pictures there and see how everyone has changed. so, back to the birthday. my dad is great, he even paid for his own birthday dinner! thanks dad. after dinner, we went back to my parents house to open presents. dad got some pretty sweet presents. lisa and chris gave him a ticket to the body worlds exhibit and a home-made card by lisa.. she is getting to be so crafty! mom gave him a golf shirt, a book, and season tickets for the hail center theater. thomas, gracy and i gave him a book by elder holland. all in all it was a great birthday celebration.

so, i promised you a funny story... the other day, my dad was eating alone at some restaurant (as he frequently does), and the waitress came over and said: "there is a group of kids over there and i told them that gepetto is here. can you go over and pretend that you are gepetto?" so my dad went over and pretended he was gepetto for all of these little kids!!! oh man, i only wish i would've been there. what a good sport dad is! so here's to you, happy birthday gepetto.... i mean, dad!
